Contemporary Timber Garage in Dulford, Devon
Our clients in Dulford initially came to us weighing up whether a brick or timber garage would be the better option for their property. After spending time discussing the advantages, specification and long-term use of both, they chose a bespoke timber-framed design.
At nearly 7m x 3.3m, the finished garage provides substantial vehicle and storage space while bringing a more contemporary finish to the property. The timber frame is clad externally in Olive Green composite cladding from Cladco, paired with a box-profile metal roof to help manage internal condensation. With no electrical supply required inside the garage, three rooflights were positioned along the roof to bring natural daylight into the building throughout the day.
Access is provided through a canopy-style up-and-over garage door alongside a bespoke pedestrian door, which we made and clad in the same Olive Green composite boards for a consistent finish. Internally, the garage is fully lined with plywood, providing a durable interior while also giving the clients flexibility should they decide to adapt part of the building into workshop space in the future.
A new concrete base was also completed as part of the project, allowing Axe & Timber to take the garage from groundwork and initial fabrication through to the finished building.
